Jan 2020
as the wind.
Pull you up off the ground.
Move you around.
We can go to places
you’ve never been.

I want to be
as the rain,
a soft and gentle refrain
that you collect in a cup
and drink the contents up.
Sweet as cherry wine.
Green as the leaves
on the vine.

I want to be
as the sun,
and make you feel warm.
I want to light up your face.
You have such a beautiful face.
It shouldn’t be hidden for long.

I want to be
as the snow –
coat you in pure white gold.
Spread your arms
and make angel wings.
And sing til
we scare off the crows.
