Scarlet Fury
The moment I saw her
My mind emptied
Thoughts were difficult to formulate
All I saw was her beauty
Her radiance
Crimson hair swaying gently in the breeze
The sun striking each individual strand
Reflecting brilliant mixes of red and gold
The butterflies in my stomach turned to a hornet's nest
The lump in my throat pulled at me with the force of a dying star
As she spoke
My heart skipped
When she looked at me
My skin flushed
From her smile
I melted
Her eyes, fierce
Yet soft
Her laughter rolled off her tongue
Harmoniously
Her lips
Warm and inviting
She was a spark in my darkness
Now a raging wildfire
In the midst of it all
Her silhouette
I see
A scarlet fury
Staring into the dark abyss
Into me
