I am chasing rainbows
the different colours entices
a brilliant band of primary hues joined
dazzling together against the soft blue clouds
and then in a jiffy we all disappear and move on
we don't stick around and hang in the sky for yonks
no deep attachment or cling on to a colour for too long
we are all free as birds to do as we please nothing ties us down
and we join up whenever the sky needs us to light up and do an arc

I am chasing rainbows
please stop trying to make me dull
who needs columns and pillars in a foundation of me
I don't need to hear stories of ever-lasting and children crying
my light is not just for one to put in a house and claimed as owned
belong in a rainbow with other colourful mates to dance and shine
don't probe me with your tools or call me to come out just like that
I could be anywhere Italy, Japan or up North or in green-land alright
Remember my time-line and know I answer to nobody I do my thing
