rain beats steady
on nights drum
feeding the rhythmic
thrum thrum thrum
infects dull vistas
with marcasite shine
thundered light
keeps metered time
marking
rumbled hallmarks
of sub tropical clime
as sleep eludes
may
the pen be fed
in solitude
sleepy eyes
sleepy head
chasing sleep
until
rains lullaby
soothes little meep.
