Thinking back to yesterday
The haves, have-nots, the giveaways
The hope we had I'd hoped to face
Looking back on happy days
And how they took a sudden change
Bitter now the way we taste

When you killed the clown in me
****** the joy right out of me
Took pleasure in the first degree
When you killed the clown in me

No evidence was left behind
Of the time we had a life
Your sharpened tools cut like a knife
You bent the rules you spent your dime
You changed my fate with your change of mind

When you killed the clown in me
****** the joy right out of me
Took pleasure in the first degree
When you killed the clown in me
