Paths
We cried out that our feet were sore
walking into eternity you and I
you said you would carry me
but I didn't want to get carried away
and I didn't want to weigh you down
even further
because I knew what you had taken on your shoulders
and I would never add to that
I didn't need to vocalise
you knew
and we smiled
as we walked into our fate.
