Poems
Jul 2019
if I could I surely would
to sit upon the train
and travel the towns of Europe
to leave IHOP in the rain
after I eat pancakes and maple syrup
to sit in a cavernous cathedral
alone and calm and quiet
to see the Japanese garden again
In Portland, where the anti-Trumpists riot
to walk along the beach
as my growing children play
to do one good thing for each
before I die and fade away
