A ballet by Full Moon
07/19/2019

As the dusk has turned to night
The lonely shadow now covers the earthly stage
Dreaming of his lover, the light, by Sun has parted
Reminiscing, of light's fold, through the length of the day

Sad was the lonely shadow
Longing to be with his lover once more
Wanting to hold her, in the passionate heat, as by noon
Pleads with the lords of the heavens for a chance
To hold his love, as she, the light of the Sun, held him

Feeling the sorrow of a lover, and hearing the plea
Moon, full, with all its glory, her daughter sent, to soothe,
The torment of the lamenting lover through the night
Once more, the ballet plays out, on the earthly stage
And just past midnight, the two lovers were one again

The shadow though knew, the light, by full Moon's grace
Played the lovers role, and held him in a cool embrace
And as the hours faded, the Moon too will leave this place
Taking her daughter, before dawn, and the lovers will part ways
As the shadow, dreams into slumbering sleep, on the earthly stage
