I wander to a lonely place
on the edge of the holy Land.
I wander through Shades of green and yellow.
Not to arrive, not to achieve.
Just to watch the Horizon.

I see the tower reach high above,
gleam in the golden light.
I run the million stairs in a
hurry.
Not to impress, not to please.
Just to see the evening sun.

I reach the highest point,
above me only orange sky.
I step to the edge in joyful
anticipation
Not to obey, not to fawn.
Just to feel the wind blow.

I stand still and breathe
the fresh air of the early night.
I look around me to absorb what I
see.
I close my eyes but I can’t remember
the last time I did something
Just for the joy of it.
