Depth perception

I hear you smile, though you do not

speak.

It's the laughter in your eyes

I really seek.

Strange that two shall join together

and be as one,

yet never really touch,

when to another, a smile means so much.

Fantasy is sweet,

but would we dare?

And those whose lives

we share?

They do not understand

our true desire.

They give us only warmth,

when we need a fire.
