Forbidden lovers
For that’s what they were
A Queen of the country
In love with her Jester.

So revered she was
Sitting on her thrown
But he, he was a joke
No respect to be shown.

From across the floor
Their eyes would meet
Two smiles shared
Two skipped heart beats.

They knew there was no chance
For them to be together
No chance for them to forget
So they ran off with one another.

The fool of the court
And Queen of the country
Now lowly peasants
Living in each other’s company.
