When you hear the ringtone,
the dialling tone or any tone,
put down the phone
no one is at the other end
there is no friend to chat too,
you can't get through to
no one there.

As a very young man,
I found
that tying string to a tin can
pulling it along and
calling it Fido
got me noticed, but
didn't get me any friends.

So I pretend
and
throw parties,
play
musical chair
because there's only me there

no need for overkill
just one slice of cake
to fill
me up.
