Proud to be black within.
Soak in my culture of pride.
Even with racism and segregation?
We have survived.

Can't eradicate what strength we have?
Don't owe any apology to being African American.
Although in truth, we simply Americans.

Some, not too offended mom or dad from a different culture.
Creates bridges of peace to avoid this one percent.
Except, you can't run from your blackness within.

If you half of anything.
You more accepted by the race you trying to afford.
Because of your blackness within will be acknowledged.

History has shown with less.
We have accomplished more.

While those with more.
Has discriminated at best to exist.
