I sat there
Dumbstruck
With awe
And Headless
Admiration
At the pool
A mercury mirror
I saw myself
In your reflection
Like a statue
Of lost youth
Motionless
Paralysed
Grounded
Like the flower
White and pure
Pretty and Poisonous

I sat there
Waiting
For the reflection
To come alive
For me to touch
Youth
And I sat there
Oblivious
Of the world
Around us
Until I could not feel
Anymore
