When we met I didn’t look twice
I’m not sure I even noticed.

It grew slowly.

You smiled at me with the look of someone who knew nothing and everything at the same time.

I thought I’d discovered you.
I thought I’d found a treasure so rare that no one else had seen it.
An antique in a charity shop.

I saw you,
and that made both of us special.

You look so happy now that it almost takes the edge off.
She is so stunningly beautiful that I think I understand,
that what was true, what is true now, doesn’t matter.
Never mattered.
I just hope you are feeling enough love for the both of us.
