I would like to be
the sounds you hear
the sights you see
I'd like to be
as close to you
as you are close to me

when the morning comes
and daylight runs across
your face
I watch your gaze
and try
to twinkle in your eyes
so blue.

I'd like to be
the glint of the sun
bouncing off the sea
reaching out to me
while you are building
castles in the sand.
