I’ve resorted to sad songs with ballad vocals
For the comfort that was never within reach
For the warm hugs that I never would feel
For the assurance of something being there for me

I’ve written words and rearranged letters
In hopes that somewhere, something’s in harmony
That at least these words are in order
At least in the order that I’d want them to be

I’ve counted sheep and sleepless nights
For my mind won’t rest unless my heart does right
For the only wrong that it could ever take
Is when it harms itself in favor of something beautiful

And the only beautiful thing that the mind and heart would agree upon
Is the beauty of your gestures and smiles
It’s the beauty of your frowns and your tears
I found my comfort within your eyes
