How do I express
What's running through my chest
The beating of my heart
Awoken from its rest

My eyes are wide open now
I see what I've become
I’m no ordinary man at all
Just a soldier without a gun

I am a special breed
That lives without a need
In search of no new victory
But still destined to succeed

I'd given up without a fight
Turned mornings into night
Found out it didn't matter
Whether I was wrong or right

Now just the thought of you
Circling in my brain
Brings hope to a shattered soul
That words just can't explain

The darkness has turned bright
A future is in sight
Together we can touch the stars
Without ever taking flight

You are the warmth inside my fire
You are the shade beneath the trees
You are what's cool in frozen water
And the swooshing in the breeze

My heart beats for you
You’re in my sticky glue
You are all I've ever needed
You are my everything
So beautiful and free
