That Monster Within
My hands,
So thin and frail,
Shudder.
My mind,
So full of fury,
Shakes.
My heart,
So broken and lost,
Trembles.
Sharp claws,
Dripping with hate and anger,
Rip free from skin,
A whisper in the darkness.
Fanged teeth,
Promising pain and vengeance,
Spring free from gums,
A slither in the darkness.
Dark fur,
Roaring of a beast,
Grow free of pores,
A hiss in the darkness.
My hands clench,
My mind crumbles,
My heart thunders,
Because the darkness..is me.
At last,
After years of battling that shadow,
I have succumbed...
To that monster within.
