A dark forest
A lake in isolation
No sign of the Moon
A wolf’s desolation

On the calm cold water
Drops a dew from his eye
A ripple in time
The sleeping birds fly

Before he turns away
He feels the silver touch
The moonlight on his cheek
The one he loves so much

The clouds had moved away
The skies ripped apart
And he saw dear Selena
Reaching out for his heart

“Tis already yours,” he said
“it beats for you, divine.”
“I know, my dear wolf”, she said
“So now, I give you mine.”

The wolf smiled again,
His sorrow, his fears, all gone
But now he dreaded the sun
For they would part again, come morn

“Fear not, my love” she said
“I’ll always come back to you”
“Do you love me that much?” asked the wolf
“Yes, my heart. I do. “

And so the night was done
But in his heart, she will remain
Come night, the wolf shall howl
And then, they’ll kiss again.
