The fight has gone from within your eyes,
There’s a deathly calmness growing.
The candle smokes as it flickers and dies,
And I taste the fear of knowing.
I don’t see hate behind your mask,
I don’t feel your inner war.
Just a sad despair that no longer cares,
And that scares me even more.
