Sparks fly
In the heat.

Repeated
Heavy blows
Carefully aimed.


Unseen
Beneath the surface
A change is taking place.

Slowly
But surely
Strength is increasing.

Until
Suddenly


She strikes back.
And kills him.
I am, of course, aware that men can be the victims of domestic violence too. I may write something on that theme in due course.
