I love you.
Not a single moment in life
that these words
Would find their meaning.
Years gone by
without them ever leaving my lips.

These words were locked
Deep inside this prison
That you call heart.

In the summer of 2017
Six thousand miles away
To my hometown I return.
Expecting nothing in this small town
But familiar faces.

You were a mutual friend
whom I wanted to catch up with.
We spent the whole day together
From breakfast till dinner.
Yet it wasn't enough.
I wanted more time with you.

This gravity I felt
Pulling me towards you.
It was so strong
I can't help but fall.

I felt a breeze inside of me
The door was opened
The air was let in once again
My heart started to breathe.

I have been travelling
Half the world away.
Little did I know
The key was always here all along.

I love you.
These words are freed.
You are their saviour.
