Trust Something that is supposed to be held close And actually mean something It wraps around your heart as if it is to protect But it causes more harm than good
You think it is there to show you the good in the world But really it is like a rug Soon to be pulled from underneath you Making you fall on your face
You’re hurt You cry You’re anger inside is like a fire thats gotten out of control
Trust is such a strong word yet it can be broken so easily It can be built up over years and years So many memories over the time But it can be shattered into a million pieces And you’re the one that has to clean it up
So you build your walls Vowing to never trust again Never to be hurt again But it just hurts more Knowing there is no one you can depend on No one you can truly trust You are in charge of your heart Keep it safe from all harm Even when the harm is from yourself
