I was a tender reed
Attempting to bloom
In the limited soil I had
With the small nutritents available to me

You were stones
Choking out every beautiful stem
Nature was creating in me
You were locusts eating away my leaves
Ripping off parts of trying to grow
I was trying to grow

I was trying to grow
