It was a classic deception
One that wasn't easy to tell
You see the lines were blurry
Between truth and lies.
I fell for the velvety feel
Of perfection just how I needed it.
He knew what I needed
and delivered it dressed up
Just the way I liked it.
Classy,  irresistible, perfect.
I thought this was it
The beginning of the end
Everything exactly as it should
until the layers began to Peel
Coat after coat of trickery
Beguiling my senses.
The mist began to thin
And I could see
Exactly what you were
A serpent of exceptional skill
You led me on a merry chase.
