The grandfather clock painfully strikes ten
My lover appears in my mind again
She’s miles away and yet she moves my core being
With her smile and grace, I can only stand in awe
I imagine her lying beside me, my arms wrapped around her
To keep her safe from harm’s hand
And I am gently stroking her skin and feel her goosebumps appear
I can smell her freshly washed hair gently brushing against my face
I lift her hair up and lay a kiss on the back of her neck
She shivers and pulls my arms tighter around her body
My mind is playing tricks on me
For a moment, I think I do feel her presence here and near
I may be dreaming or just imagining
But the night is young and She’s on my Mind.
