Nov 2018
distant lovers face each other
and rest in time’s apartment
find me a sword
and i’ll cut you a path through the forest
dripping with dew
and our hearts are pumping
hunted like nightmares
with landscapes passing
treasures discovered under your campsite
eyes like the night
what a terrible sight
just as we were sitting down to dinner
love is busting its bones
and roses are thrusting through the stones
i am alone and hustling in the snow
dreams of snowboards and tiny mountains
while lions in your bed are cuddling with you
i saw you last night by the edge of that dream
against the car you were standing
we hugged and my heart jumped
and nearly skipped a beat
i lost control and a guitar fell
you said don't worry but i was ashamed
so i removed my clothes and hid beneath your skin
naked flesh leapt quickly
from the edges of our imagination
you were a breath i couldn’t catch
nor hold onto
and if you ever decide to come back
i’ll surely hold you to my chest for a minute
and let you enter my blood
loud as thunder with stars burning
dreams can be such terrible foreboding
