legend, feel my presence. There can
only be one me. In my own skin
is how I’m growing. I’ll water myself

every day, provide my own type
of shade. I’ll prune and trim,
cut back enough

so I can grow new buds. I’ll blossom
into what I’m supposed to me. Whatever
that is, will be unique. It won’t be

you or anyone else. I’ve got to
learn to love myself. I’m not
young. But I don’t need

to be young. I’m not
wealthy. But I don’t need
to be wealthy. I’m not the brightest

star that ever shined. But I’m in
the sky. And to me
that’s just fine.
