How relieving
To feel the effect
Of having held on
To the wrong person
Wear off slowly
With the action of letting go

It hasn't been easy
But it gets better by the day
As I resist the urge
To call you when I'm in town
These days the urge isn't there

I don't even think about it
Like I used to
I don't feel the pain
Like I used to
I don't yearn to know
Like I used to

I didn't know
That the choice I made
Would make all this difference
Turns out it's true
That time actually heals

You didn't choose me
And I chose to let you go
It took so much energy. But the results are definitely worth it
