Wrapped up in a cocoon
With rainbows and the afternoon
A butterfly sleeps
Awaiting the day her colors bloom

She dreams of flight
And soon
It all will become true
As long as she can wake up

Soon

But the days never penetrated
Through the shell she laid within
And her body became a puddle
Soaking in the colors and grim

Her life as a caterpillar
Was all that would ever been

A butterfly sleeps forever
But I'll always remember
The way she inched
