I Do
..
The sentence, no matter
how short, can never be
revoked, once verbalised
in public, there is no parole,
reprieve, nor redemption.
Etched letters carved into
tree trunks bare witness,
ending up the epitaphs by
those who scribe fleeting
feelings, prone to change.
Indelible tattoos, become the
branded insignias of authors
who chose to stain the papyrus
with what will become their
literary benchmarks.
