Aug 2018
I hopped on the back of a whale
And rode it across the ocean
Pulled on my hiking boots
And landed among meteorites.

We left behind our disposition
Drank red wine and stained our teeth blue
Chattered among empty wells
And hoped all would be able to understand
That it was no easy feat arriving here

I’m not special
I’ve been given many gifts along the road
As I swept myself up into
What I hoped would be wedding veil
After wedding veil
Flying away from the coop.

I hope for many things
Giving in
That’s what one of my very best friends
Said to do
Give in.
