it is a huge leap
when the faith that you faithfully kept
you now keep
in the bottom drawer

and we wait for a rainy day
if only to wash the pain they
would garner to farm out to
philistines
who never believed anything
anyway
away.

but
we're all heroes
microwave millionaires
ten thousand shares
on Facebook,

I look blankly
or I could and then
no one would thank me
for leaping.

If I believed in nothing,
I believe that is something

faith's a peculiar old bird.
If you're waiting for Godot or
Robert de Niro
you're a hero too.
