And on the ninth day
When dark clouds have
obscured the gray, frosty land
The Heavens sent blocks of steel
Cool and hard, they fell on ground
    Like eerie monoliths from above
A merciful gift from rigid gods

The men of the tribe left their camp fires
and their wives, and readily gathered around the blocks
to make brief decisions
and do what they had to
