Dance

A lingering touch, a passing glance,
How much longer can we keep up this dance?
What happens when one of us stumbles and falls?
Which one will be the first to let down their walls?
Can't you see that I want you to be mine?
What can I do to give you a sign?
This dance is far too complex for my taste
Doesn't all this work feel like a waste?
Here, take my hand, follow my lead
We can take all the time that we need
One step here, watch my stance
Just take my hand, and I will show you love’s dance
Some thoughts about the one that got away.
