I am money changing hands-
Insignificant and ubiquitous
Imbibed as oxygen
Spit out like old chewing gum
I am the tree that never grows leaves-
Alone but surrounded
Decrepit states of being
Amid tiny sparks of youth
I am a child’s heart-
Intelligent and delicate
Fathoming the depths
Of the outside world
I am detached-
Bought and sold
Young and old
A victim of doublethink
