Changing a routine
only for a day
going into London
the jubilee line way

It's less crowded
blissfully quiet
and quite nice to
hear myself think

but it's not going to be
a permanent change
I don't like change
it's just a spur of the
moment
entirely different
well
not entirely
it's still the underground.

Approaching Canning town
be careful
man on board
change here for
city airport
and all
other ports
I expect.

This train is for Stanmore
I can hardly contain
my joy
I may have to smile.

Exit which is not the last exit
but here is the 02 arena
a scene of
some confusion for the
early morning tourists.

Girl next to me
with legs as far as the eye
can see
I'm not looking
honestly.

And being so fond of
Bond Street
I'm moseying on down there
on my way to One Greek Street
where
the door is always open.

The jubilee gives me
more time to write
and you might think
'Oh **** me how lucky'
but I forgive you
you don't have to read it.

The girl with the seven league
legs
leaves
taking giant strides
but I'm not looking
honestly.
