Captivity is a state in which I guess we all live in
Have lived in
Or will live in.

Captivity may be holding the key to open the door but never quite taking that step.

Captivity may be having the door open,
one foot out,
Without the guts to put the other one out
And closing the door behind you.

Captivity is not like being claustrophobic in an elevator
It’s sometimes the best feeling in the world.
The best, it’s a feeling of peace,
Love,
And maybe overlooking some of the most important things
And your vision is a little blurred

Until you leave, close the door behind you
Give it time
Look back on it

You’ll see things,
The things you’ve overlooked,
You’ll learn a little,
Look a little older
Be a little wiser.

But something you must understand,
Is to never, EVER
Let anyone hold you captive.
You must always feel free to open the door
and leave
