Driving home in the dark
Thinking about my own heart
The past surrounds it
The past will not heal
It feels cold on every tiny bit
Every part of me it slowly steals
My heart beating so fast
It cries out to the past
Trying to make it all go away
All it wants to do is stay
The past wants itself to change
And it will not leave till that is in range
But the past cannot be touched
I can't do that much
So I'll just carry on
Until the morning dawn
