They want to arm teachers.
I would rather pay teachers
But they replied they would pay teachers to carry arms.
But I sneered that they would ignore teachers who come with open arms
To receive pay.
You cannot convince me that a teacher should only be paid more
If they take up arms.
And if teachers are to play  police
To police our children
Does that mean the role of children in the classroom changes too?
Would teachers be more instructors or security guards?
I don't know how anyone would be able to do both equally well.
It would be like someone being both judge and baliff.

The sad part is if they ask for a pay raise for any other reason
Such as I need to keep up a standard of living
They say we can’t afford it.
But we can’t afford to skimp on education.
They risk their lives every day
To do what is most essential for our society
Teach our kids.
We have people who can protect them.
The teacher's role is uniquely bestowed.
But you add guns to the equation
It makes it more of a battle.
And not one thats adds up.
The violence might multiply
Because more guns cross the divide between teacher and student.
It is said that the teacher’s unions are the problem.
If there was no teacher union there would not be advocates at all.
Because if these people complaining did not talk out of both sides of their mouth
They really would not be able to talk at all.
