There’s no need for words,
For the love in his heart says it all,
As the sailor sets to sail
She patiently waits for the falls,
Over the falls this ship will go,
With a heart falling deeper in love,
Uncaring of the obvious danger,
The ship continues to fall.
Breaking into a million pieces,
The ship becomes no more,
But the heart of the loving young sailor, slowly washes ashore. Battered but not all broken,
The heart begins to crawl,
For the love that it’s been wanting,
Is surely not far at all.
Struggling along the shoreline, the heart begins to bleed,
But for a heart with this much love,
The end is worth the blood that leaves.
Reaching the end of his journey, the heart finds his love worthy of the fall, sure that his love will heal the damage, the heart has no worries at all.
Now Contently in love, the heart opens the cuts even more, showing every wound until it can show no more. Needing his love the most now, he desperately waits to be healed, but in one short moment, the love fought so hard for becomes concealed.
What appears before him now, is a heart made of stone, colder than the waters the ship sat with below. Smashing down on him, the heart can take no more, for the pain of this lost love hurt more than the trip he endured.
Barely beating, the heart crawls back to his own shore, to heal all alone, until the day he can take the trip once more.
A poem that came to me in the shower, while thinking about my love.
