HAUNTED BY THE PAST
Today i feel like an outcast,
that's how you made me feel.
I bare my heart out to you,
but you treated me without respect,
wounding my very fragile soul.
I can't raise my head to look at you.
For the shame i feel
engulfed and consume me.
You rejected my love
because of my past.
Broken into pieces
i bend to pick up what's left.
Am i a damaged good
that has no value?
Am i not worthy to be by your side?
I am now haunted by my past.
We are both guilty
of same accusations.
The difference is that i beared fruit
and you didn't.
You were aloof and a wanderer.
Though not all wanderers are lost.
You built a self-made
prison wall around yourself.
As if you are untouchable.
You fear what you want,
at same time want what you fear.
Who now shall deliver us from this pain.
We need each other to survive.
Come forward and surrender.
I want to conquer you.
