I'll admit it.
That evening I laid my head
on a blanket on the grass and felt safe
knowing you couldn't see my eyes watching you.
You looked over at me once and we caught each other's gaze.
But after that you didn't try again.
And that's okay.
I liked knowing you were just a few steps away even though I wasn't going to get up.
