Dec 2017
all eyes were the same
bland or bold
big or small
all held the dull
as if they all looked past me
as if i wasn’t but another copy on a shelf
for them to pick between when it doesn’t really matter
but then you came along
and at first yours might have been the same
but one day i looked up and saw a glow
a shine of gold in those brown eyes of yours
that i had never seen before you looked into mine
and that’s when i knew
you were different
