A tilley lamp
of Venus held,
immaculate, on solemn spurs
commands the fetid soul
to flourish, purged of
rancid frippery,
At last!, that mitred puritan
from white and treeless latitudes
returns a term of Nordic lore
to thorn this morning glorious.
