Nov 2017
have you undressed by the moonlight
or inside a cabin in front of a fire
if so the moon is impregnated with your delicate skin
and i am a victim to the drifter within
once upon a time the mascara ran down your eyes
and i held you while you cried for hours
now i am threadbare and thin as a reed
without a piece of cloth to call my own
you are living high and i am barely breathing
while you are still young, fortunate and desirable
i've been angry at the sky for quite some time
the stars are within you and i am in need of a compass
you are the moment that devours all my patience
now there is no more need to speak
so i release the urge to think
and just let the words come out
you and i have danced a thousand times
of that i have no doubt
