Nov 2017
It started small, slowly.
A single flicker;
ignited by your ignorance.
I controlled my temper.

Weeks passed
and I played along.
Maybe it'll backfire
but boy, I thought wrong.

Your words are gasoline
and your actions, a flame.
Our bond is set ablaze
and it is yours to blame.

You see, it could've been saved
if you had put out the fire.
But you've always been burning
and I've always been the extinguisher.
