The uncomprehending wind it blows Across the unforgiving sea To form the tide that moves and rolls To take you away from me
The winds of anger, the tides of spite Cause the sea to roughly churn Carrying swiftly the ship so light Leaving no safe port in which to turn
These storms caused by our arguments Lead to tornadoes that sink our boats Of course that is not our intent But that's just the way it goes
Sooner or later we must surely drown Go down to salty, watery graves Should I like a Captain with my ship go down Or see if there's anything left to save
Clinging desperately to the debris Just trying to survive To see if there's any reason we Should stay together in our lives
