Illusion
choosing not to see
turning away
in stubborn folly--

illusion
the ruin of so many
rose-tainted eyes
that embrace blindly--

illusion
the perpetual love-story
Cinderella and the midnight chime
who would forget Sleeping Beauty?

illusion
dreams caress so sweetly
the wild heart can't let go
it denies reality--

illusion
this never would perish---beauty
the crown of living
it would last for many a century--

illusion
now I'm old and weary
the screen of the past
unrolls-- even now I'm not set free.
